Joe Reynolds

I’m Joe. I run operations, compliance and technology for an investment firm. It's work that’s mostly about execution and delivery - good judgment, remaining calm under load, and getting complicated things to behave. It pays the bills — and I’m good at it — but I hope it's not the most interesting thing about me.

The rest: I like getting my hands dirty (literally and metaphorically) — crafting — paint, sewing, wood, coding, a loom. Things that reward patience and discourage shortcuts. I enjoy shooting film on an old analogue camera, sometimes returning to digital photography when I’m honest about deadlines. I need to read more.

Stating the obvious, art (of all forms) inspires me. I have a quiet weakness for Japanese craft — ceramics, selvedge denim, camping kit (Hi, Snow Peak!) — and have had more Mk1 Mazda MX-5s than strictly necessary. I train. I've entered a powerlifting competition. I do Hyrox, which I’m told is fun.

Most weekends you’ll find me cooking over a fire somewhere with my wife, our two daughters, and a small, opinionated Brussels Griffon.
